Reef Essential® LR Nitrate Remover™ is designed for aquariums that have 15ppm or lower nitrate. It is formulated specifically to reduce nitrate without promoting the nuisance bio-bacteria slime within marine/reef environments and works by providing bioavailable carbon sources to denitrifying bacteria present in media, deep sand beds & inner pores of live rock. The bacteria oxidise the reduced carbon sources into carbon dioxide while reducing nitrate to chemically inert nitrogen gas. If you are experiencing nitrate levels higher than 15ppm, we recommend using our Reef Essential® HR Nitrate Remover™ then making the switch to Reef Essential® LR Nitrate Remover™ once nitrate becomes 15ppm or lower.

Required parameters:

– Maximum 15ppm nitrate  
– dKH = 7+
– pH = 8.2+

Instructions:  
Shaking is not required. Add directly into high water flow. For accurate dosing, the dosing formula is total volume of aquarium and external filter minus all media, rock, ornaments, etc. that occupies volume. This product can be used on a dosing pump.
