The bacteria that colonises these ceramic bio-cylinders, help to convert and reduce ammonia and nitrates in the aquarium.

Bio-Media increases the water quality and improves fish health. It supports a healthy aquarium by increasing the filters capacity to grow beneficial bacteria, which reduces the amount of common aquarium pollutants. 

Directions: Rinse the Bio-media under running water before use to remove any fine material.

Over time, Bio-Media can be clogged and dirty, which can make it hard for the helpful bacteria to live on it and do their job. It’s a good idea to partially clean or replace the Bio-Media every 3-6 months.

Using test kits to monitor water quality in the aquarium is recommended.
